CCHS Honor Student Receives Foundation Grant

Cherry Hill, NJ. (May 31, 2019) — Colin Hughes of Pennsauken NJ received the first of an annual grant from The Billy Walker Jr. Foundation awarded to a graduating student of Camden Catholic High School to pursue a career as a First Responder or in Law Enforcement. Like Billy Jr., Colin was a 3rd generation legacy student of CCHS. He was joined by his family on Friday as he graduated with honors as a member of the National Honor Society.  Colin was accepted into both the Henry Lee College of Forensic Science at the University of New Haven in Connecticut and Stockton University’s dual major program to study Criminal Justice and Forensic Art. Colin decided to stay close to family and attend Stockton University in Fall 2019.  The board of The Billy Walker Jr. Foundation is proud to support Colin and look forward to seeing him reach his career goals.

The Billy Walker Jr. Foundation is a non-profit organization created in memory of Billy Walker, Jr., a 21-year-old Fire Fighter/EMT, who passed away on May 30, 2011.  The family and friends of Billy Jr. created this foundation to continue Billy’s legacy of helping others.
